Gender Parity on Candidate Lists and Digital Political Violence in Mexico

This quantitative research project analyzed official Facebook pages of candidates running for governorships in the 2021 Elections in Mexico, in search for gendered-based political violence. Based on the main findings, we extended a series of recommendations to empower female candidates, for electoral authorities, political parties, as well as for digital platforms.

UNESCO’s brief “Context Matters: Localising UNESCO’s Readiness Assessment Methodology” explains why national AI readiness assessments often miss local realities, and proposes “Local RAMs” to better connect national policy with on-the-ground implementation. It highlights how AI readiness can differ within a country due to governance, culture, language, and capacity, and recommends focusing on practical levers rather than national “sovereign” indicators that do not translate locally.
